Meet the Team

All of our team are volunteers, as well as responding we all help out with fundraising and running of the group.

Our responders all come from different backgrounds, some work in the NHS and others have various different jobs.

Meet our Responders:

NameLength of Time with the groupIntroduction
Debs4 YearsSenior Cabin Crew Member. CFR Level 3. I enjoy being a CFR as I find it very rewarding, helping our local community is extremely rewarding.
Jon A3 - 4 Years"Currently earn a living as a First Aid Trainer, prior to that I spent 30 years as an Outdoor Educationalist in secondary education. Now semi retired, although still work full time and a Grandad! Just about to adopt a blind rescue lurcher dog.
Why CFR? Its interesting and rewarding and I like the people, both patients and other colleagues. Learn something new about people every day."
Kari6 months"I currently work in the NHS as an Assistant Practitioner with over 10 years varied A & E experience. I am married with 2 teenage children. I became a CFR because I wanted to give back and support my community with my emergency care skills. I know first hand the pressures EMAS and hospital
A & E Departments are under in the present healthcare climate. Being able to volunteer when I have free time could make all the difference to a family like mine, while waiting for EMAS to arrive during busy response periods."
Mark W4 YearsI'm a high dependency assistant for EMAS in my day job. I like to do community first responding as I like to give back to the community I live in.
Mark E4 YearsCurrently work full time for East Midlands Ambulance Service on A&E Urgent Care and hold my Level 3 IHCD FPOS-I. By becoming a CFR, it has gained me vital life skills, not only in Emergency Pre-hospital Care but the ability to communicate, problem solve and work effectively as a team member amongst a variety of other important factors needed within an every day to day life.
Mathew 30 years "Hi I’m Mathew I work as a Health and safety consultant and I have lived in chesterfield for 30 years. I enjoy mountain biking and keeping fit in the Gym.
Why do I CFR? I used to be in the fire service and after leaving I felt that there was something missing from my life. I enjoy helping others but have a busy work schedule, lucky as a CFR I can fit my responding around my work which means I am still able to support my local community."
Smudge SmithI’ve been with this group since it started and came across from the Sja group when it moved to EMAS24 year soldier followed by a 23 years with the probation service now happily retired.
